Sri Lanka Life Saving is honored to host the “World Conference on Drowning Prevention 2021” In Colombo, Sri Lanka.
The World Conference on Drowning Prevention (WCDP) is the international Life Saving Federation’s (ILSF) Flagship educational event. This biennial conference brings together the world’s foremost experts, research, systems and information on drowning prevention, rescue, lifesaving and water safety. The exchange, debate and development are designed to find ways to reduce death and injury in all aquatic environments worldwide. Sri Lanka Life Saving is hosting the event with the support from the ILSF and the World Health Organization (WHO).
This will be proud moment of the history of Sri Lanka Life Saving and Sri Lanka since it will be the biggest UN event Sri Lanka will host under the category of injury prevention. The conference is expected to be attended by more than 800 people representing over 60 countries. The achievement simply exemplifies the progress that Sri Lanka has made within the activities of drowning prevention and water safety. Sri Lanka will be the third Asian nation to host the World Conference on Drowning Prevention.
